Last week, Just Shutters welcomed franchise owners from across the UK to our much-anticipated annual conference in the beautiful Bryanston Suite of Bournemouth’s Highcliff Marriott Hotel. For the first time, the event was held over two full days and was a resounding success. It was filled with productive networking and insightful presentations—all designed to empower our franchisees and strengthen our community.
Connecting and Growing Together
As always, the conference offered a valuable chance for both new and established business owners to come together, share experiences, and celebrate successes. From first-time attendees to seasoned members of the Just Shutters family, everyone benefited from the open exchange of ideas, fostering not only individual growth but a stronger, more united team.
Feedback and Training
A highlight of the conference was the dynamic sales training session led by Deborah Wain, a leading trainer from LDL. Known for her work with over half of The Sunday Times Top 25 Best Big Companies to Work For, as well as many SMEs and start-ups, LDL brought invaluable expertise to the Just Shutters family. Deborah’s interactive session was designed to hone essential sales skills, creating a supportive space where franchisees could share insights, ask questions, and provide each other with positive and constructive feedback. Attendees left with practical, actionable strategies to boost their business success.
Mental Health and Wellbeing
Another invaluable session was led by Nicki Jones from Emphasis HR & Training, focusing on the importance of mental health awareness in the workplace. She shared practical tips and exercises to help franchisees maintain their physical and mental health, offering strategies for managing stress, balancing work-life demands, and fostering a positive mindset. This session underscored Just Shutters’ commitment to supporting not only business growth but also the well-being of each franchisee.
Insights from Industry Experts
This year, we introduced a marketing session led by Allied Media, our trusted partner in print media, who shared strategies for maximising reach through traditional and digital advertising and creative local campaigns. Our digital partner, Evomark, also presented an insightful discussion on pay-per-click (PPC) advertising, emphasizing its power to drive qualified leads and grow its online presence.
Closing with a Powerful Interactive Session
To cap off the conference, we welcomed “The Telephone Assassin” Anthony Stears, who led an engaging session on customer engagement and follow-up techniques. Anthony’s energetic and hands-on approach had franchisees actively participating, learning to handle objections, and building rapport with clients to foster long-term relationships. His expert guidance on turning everyday conversations into sales opportunities resonated with all in attendance, providing fresh tools to enhance customer connections.
Both Deborah and Anthony’s sessions embodied Just Shutters’ commitment to delivering exceptional training and support, equipping franchisees with the skills to thrive in the industry.
Looking Ahead
The conference’s positive energy made it clear that Just Shutters is a family united by shared goals and values. We’re thrilled to keep the momentum going, working closely with our franchisees to ensure they have the resources, knowledge, and support to thrive.
