With a background in business management and a strong customer-first mindset, Heath takes immense pride in helping homeowners across Sussex transform their spaces with stunning, high-quality shutters. What did you do before becoming a Just Shutters franchisee?
Before joining Just Shutters, I was a Business Support Manager in the pub and restaurant trade, overseeing operations across the UK. While I enjoyed the role, I knew I wanted something more, a business I could call my own, where my hard work would build something lasting.
What do you love most about running your own business?
The WOW moment! Seeing a customer’s face light up when their shutters are installed is priceless. That reaction makes all the effort worthwhile. Plus, I love having the freedom to manage my time, make key business decisions and be part of a supportive franchise network. It’s the best of both worlds, independence with a strong foundation behind me.

Taking time to evaluate the day. Running a business means constantly learning and improving, and reflection helps me stay on top of my goals.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Focus on what you can control. Letting go of things outside of your control reduces stress and allows you to focus on making a positive impact. This mindset is key in running a successful business.
What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a franchisee?
Listen to all the advice you’re given, you don’t know everything and that’s okay. Buying a franchise means learning from experienced professionals. Trust the process, embrace change and be open to growth. That’s how you set yourself up for success.
