What did you do before becoming a Just Shutters franchisee?
I was in supermarket retail for 23 years. General Store Manager and Regional Project Manager
What do you love most about your work?
I never let a day go by without…
A strong, fresh Lungo coffee first thing; I even take my coffee machine camping – tent camping!
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
I didn’t do particularly well at university (didn’t start the second year); afterwards, my dad said, “You wanted to go that route, and we happily supported that choice, now – never forget that effort and common sense along with a smile is all it takes.”
Those words worked for me!
And those words are still with me 28 years later!
What advice would you give to someone considering becoming a franchisee?
Do real research. Look at the market in your area. Look at yourself – are you really ready for the significant challenge, it is a wonderful change but it isn’t a walk in the park.
